Last night around 10:30 we pulled back into Panama City, and back into my allergies. Neither one of us had bad allergies till we moved to Florida...
Over the weekend we enjoyed visiting with the Mr.'s parents and grandparents. We also went to a DCI show. I mentioned my husband was a drummer in the "About Me" section, and I was serious! He has a practice pad which he beats on regularly, and his crown jewel: a CD collection of DCI shows.
Drum Corps International is an organization of elite drum and bugle corps that tour the nation playing for competitions while preparing for the championships, now only two short weeks away.
FYI, this isn't your high school's marching band.
This particular group is called the Cavaliers. Notice the color guard dude on stilts in the middle? (and yes they did steal those hats from Lady Gaga) This next group, the Cadets, did a show called "Angels and Demons" and those are the demons...
Ok.. I know my nerd is showing, but this is really neat. My husband played in a group like this several years ago, and is still into it in a big way. So this has become an annual ritual for us.
And now, I would like to introduce you to the newest member of our little family...
This is GiGi, our four pound chihuahua. She is so precious, and very well behaved. Mr. Gingerbread's mom graciously gave her to us on this last visit, as well as plenty of good advice for our first fur baby.
GiGi had a big day yesterday, so she has spent most of the today magically escaping her kennel when I was out this morning and resting. She is extremely well behaved for being in a strange new place.
She is looking forward to what's going to be baked this week, as well as the "Bachelorette" finale. She is cheering for J.P., though we all know Ben is way less sketchy.
